DESCRIPTION:The Island SPACE Caribbean Museum is excited to present “Reimagining Emancipation” a look into the journey to and through Emancipation.\nAnnually on August 1\, the “British” West Indies celebrates the moment in 1834 when they were granted emancipation from slavery. This year\, as we examine the history and our current realities\, the museum has developed programming to educate and engage the public on this pivotal moment in Caribbean history.
