Embodying Emancipation Dance Workshop

Island SPACE Caribbean museum presents ?Embodying Emancipation?, a fusion Dance Workshop incorporating both traditional and modern dance genres. Join us on Saturday, August 20th, 2022 at Island SPACE Caribbean museum where our instructor Patricia Carby (Instagram: @iampatriciacarby) will lead us through engaging and energetic choreography.

A fusion dance class that incorporates traditional and social Afro-Caribbean, classical ballet, modern, and fitness elements that identifies that the body is a site of knowledge which illuminates the transformative performances of the pelvis as experienced in the Caribbean cultural performances inclusive of but not limited to Bahamian Junkanoo, Jamaican Dancehall, and Trinidadian Carnival.

The class fee is $20, and space is limited.
