Reimagining Emancipation Opening Reception

The Reimagining Emancipation Opening Reception will take place on Wednesday, July 27th from 6pm- 8pm at the Island SPACE Caribbean
Museum. During our short program, we will introduce our Reimagining Emancipation installation and share the inspiration that ignited the vision for the exhibit. This reception is a time for guests to familiarize themselves with the Island SPACE Caribbean museum and mix and mingle with other Caribbean history and culture enthusiasts.

Island SPACE Caribbean Museum is excited to present ?Reimagining Emancipation? a look into the journey to and through Emancipation.
Annually on August 1, the ?British? West Indies celebrates the moment in 1834 when they were granted emancipation from slavery. This year, as we examine the history and our current realities, the museum has developed programming to educate and engage the public on this pivotal moment in Caribbean history. On July 27th 2022 the museum will host an opening ceremony for this year?s emancipation programming. Join us as we introduce the emancipation installation and mix and mingle with fellow Caribbean enthusiasts.
