Poetic Justice: An Artistic Experience Celebrates Youth, Culture, and the Power of Words

RSVP NOW: islandspacefl.org/poetic25

Plantation, FL – In honor of National Poetry Month, Island SPACE Caribbean Museum invites the community to Poetic Justice: An Artistic Experience, an unforgettable evening of storytelling, spoken word, and cultural expression. Taking place on Friday, April 26, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., this family-friendly event promises to inspire and entertain.

Poetic Justice is more than a performance—it’s a platform for healing, identity, and empowerment. Through a fusion of poetry, music, and art, the event fosters a safe and creative haven for youth and adults alike. At the heart of the evening, young aspiring writers will share personal letters written to their future selves, while seasoned poets write to their younger selves written to both their future and younger selves—in a powerful spoken word exchange with old and new.

The event will be hosted and presented by Frankie Red Wordz and Mecca Grimo and will feature a lineup of acclaimed poets, including Mori Taiye, an international poetry music artist; Just John, a National Poetry Slam Champion; Quick The Poet, an internationally recognized poet and curator; May Reign, the Poet Laureate of Miami Gardens; and Ben Francois, M.Psy, a mental health therapist and spoken word artist.

Live musical vibes will be provided by The Tribe Band, setting the tone for an unforgettable evening. Don’t miss this opportunity to support youth voices, celebrate Caribbean culture, and be moved by the power of poetic justice.
