Island SPACE Rum Cake and Black Cake Fest

To kick off the holidays “tastefully,” Island SPACE Caribbean Museum presents the annual Rum Cake and Caribbean Black Cake Fest.

**Part proceeds of this event will be donated to Hurricane Melissa relief efforts. The Rum Cake Festival will act as a drop location for hurricane relief supplies. Attendees are invited to bring newly purchased cases of canned goods, hygiene and sanitary products, and baby supplies, and Island SPACE will ensure they reach reliable operation partners.

Kick off the holiday season with a flavorful celebration! Island SPACE Caribbean Museum, in collaboration with the Caribbean Professionals Network and a lineup of talented South Florida bakers, invites you to indulge in the fourth annual Rum Cake and Caribbean Black Cake Fest on Sunday, November 16, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m at Volunteer Park Community Center, 12050 West Sunrise Boulevard Plantation, FL 33323.

This festive gathering starts at $25 for pre-sold general admission tickets, with a $30 cost at the door. Premium Rum Room tickets are $60 pre-sold only.

New Feature: “The Rum Room”

Led by our discerning rum sommeliers, sample a variety of rums from across the Caribbean, paired with gourmet Caribbean bites.

Your samples, include the new Saint Sauveur 1972 Haitian rum by Melky Jean (Wyclef’s sister), as well as other new and unique options.

Tickets for the Rum Room are $60 pre-sold only and guests must be 21 and over.

Savor the rich, time-honored flavors of the Caribbean as cake makers serve up samples of traditional rum cake and the beloved black cake—a dark, spiced fruitcake cherished across English-speaking Caribbean islands.

Discover new favorites for your Thanksgiving and Christmas feasts while enjoying the spirit of the holidays in the islands.

Bakers in attendance represent countries including but not limited to: Antigua & Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Cuba, Curacao, Dominican Republic, Guyana, Grenada, Haiti, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Trinidad & Tobago, Virgin Islands, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, and St. Vincent & the Grenadines.

Island Society for the Promotion of Artistic and Cultural Education (Island SPACE) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of arts, culture, history, and educational initiatives that represent the Caribbean region, in South Florida and the broader diaspora.
