About 100 attendees gathered at Island SPACE Caribbean Museum on the evening of Thursday, February 27, 2025 for another engaging installment of Jamaican Consul General R. Oliver Mair?s Distinguished Lecture Series. The lecture, Invest in Jamaica, featured investment banker, entrepreneur, and Spark FDI chairman Chris Williams, who provided valuable insights into Jamaica?s economic potential.
Exploring the Future of Investment in Jamaica plus a Tribute to Bob Marley?s Legacy
After enjoying self-guided tours of the museum, guests were seated, and Mandy Laguerre, Island SPACE Museum Manager, offered a general welcome. CG Mair took the stage to welcome guests to the evening?s event, first leading the audience in a brief singalong with legendary Jamaican guitarist Eugene Grey, then introducing keynote speaker, Chris williams.
During his lecture, Williams educated the audience with an in-depth presentation on the opportunities available for investors looking to engage with Jamaica?s growing economy. He articulated the benefits of investing in real estate and fixed income, explaining how to maximize revenue potential with practical examples. His presentation underscored the advantages of direct foreign investment and of Jamaica?s current economic policies.

After the presentation, with the reprised help of guitarist Eugene Grey, Richard Blackford and DJ Bigg G, co-hosts of the Yaawd Media Reggae Chronicles interview series, paid tribute to the legendary Bob Marley with a special mini-lecture and singalong. The night ended with a Reggae Month celebration of Marley?s lasting influence on Jamaica?s global identity while guests dined on appetizers and drinks.
Attendees left the event inspired by new perspectives on investment in Jamaica. The evening also provided a prime opportunity to connect with the Consulate General of Jamaica.
