In Celebration of The Bahamas 50th Anniversary, Island SPACE hosts artist Preston Hanna

In celebration of The Bahamas 50th Anniversary, Island SPACE welcome Preston Hanna to host his artwork in the ?Kollide-o-Scope? Exhibition. The exhibition ran from May 18th through August 3rd, overlapping with The Bahamas? independence that occurred on Monday, July 10th.

Throughout the exhibition, guests of Island SPACE Caribbean Museum were met with large, bright, vivid portraiture reminiscent of the beaches and beautiful waters of The Bahamas.

To start off the closing ceremonies, Preston Hanna hosted his personalized paint and sip “Sip and Splash!” On Friday, July 14th, at 6pm, guests who came in became full fledged artist as Preston led a class for them. Preston played artist and entertainer as guests were making art and laughing throughout the night. As a Caribbean Themed party, naturally there was live music playing; at this paint and sip turned Caribbean party, Preston truly brought out the artist and dancer in each and every guest that night.

To cap off this momentous exhibit, an United States first for the Bahamian artists, Island SPACE welcomed Preston once again to speak on his process and inspiration behind his artwork in an artist talk.
