With Thompson as docent, the honored guests were taken on a tour of the Island SPACE historical archives, where they learned about the museum’s diverse collection of artifacts. They were also shown the current fine art exhibition “Kollide-o-Scope: Celebrating 50 Years of Bahamian Independence,” by Bahamian artist Preston Hanna.

As a member of the Trinidadian Diaspora, Natasha Laggan, who was recently featured in Forbes as the Caribbean’s Top Food Influencer, made a donation of traditional Trinidadian relics including a tawah (used to make roti), bailna (rolling pin), swizzle stick (used to make callaloo), and Diwali lanterns (used in the celebrations at the annual Festival of Lights), among other items.
