Marcia Ward,  served  for over four decades as a Librarian, twenty-four  of which were with  the Broward County Libraries Division (BCL).  Her career with BCL covered a variety of locations and positions the last of which was  Community Library Manager (Senior), at the African American Research Library and Cultural Center, in Fort Lauderdale, in which she was responsible for staff selection,  supervision, building management, programming and customer relations.  In other capacities she has done materials selections, budgeting, public reference and information service and staff training.   

A lifelong lover of the arts, Ms. Ward currently serves on the board of the Louise Bennett-Coverley Heritage Council;  the board of the Friends of the South Regional/Broward College Library,  the board of the Episcopal Church Women (Episcopal Church of Holy Family  chapter) and volunteers as a Guardian Ad Litem for the 17th Circuit Court.  Ms. Ward, who is passionate about serving the community, also enjoys reading, crafts and  watching classic movies.

Ms. Ward is married to the Reverend Horace Ward, Rector of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Family.  They are the parents of three adult children and the grandparents of nine ‘boonoonoonos’ grandchildren.
